Correct Case for L/52 EK1?

What would be the correct Award Case for an Iron Cross First Class marked with "20" and "L/52"? Would a blank (blank being a case with no markings on the inside) case be correct or should it be an LDO marked case? Did this manufacturer ever make any cases with the actual maker's name on the inside?

Hi Brian,

I used to own a cased "20". The case was unmarked and the insert was the standard pressed cardboard with raised markings. The only thing sort of different about the insert is that the flocking was highly recessed to fit the very large catch found on 20 marked EK1s. My case was not LDO marked but I would not say that it was the only type of case for Zimmerman EK1. An LDO marked case would not raise any alarm bells. I have not seen, nor do I recall hearing about any cases with Zimmerman's name on it though. Maybe someone else has?

Dear Brian,

This is the original case my Zimmermann EK1 came with, I strongly believe it was original with that item. Totally unmarked, maybe underneath the cardboard but I cannot check because it is still tight in the case. Hope that helped.
