    EK2 cased value

Looking for a value on a cased EK2. Assumption is an original case, EK2 of average quality with ribbon, and maker marked. Some where between 250 - 350!? Way off base?

    Appreciate any feedback.

    Thanks,
    Tony

Minty EK2's with a nice piece of ribbon can run around $200 these days from what I've seen, so I don't think your estimate is too far off, I'd guestimate around $300-350?

EK2's in the cardboard LDO Cases?

I've seen these things go for ridiculous sums -- $600-700US.

          EK2 cased value

          Ben,

Don't have any pictures to show, just looking for a "ball park" figure. I know that's always a difficult thing to ask and comment on. Realize there are many factors that add to the price.

The case is the rarity here and probably the reason for the price fluctuation.

          Darrell - that's more than I'd expect

          Thanks for the quick feedback.

Did not see a set for under 500 Euro in a year i think, cased EK2s are rare.

              Maybe 350 is too low!

If you are just talking about just the EK2 and a full length ribbon, I'd have to disagree. Even minty ones are not going for over $125 to $150 tops around here and I see dealers sitting on average, clean examples at $90 that are not moving and that's before the economy went to Hades!

What type of case is it? There are black hard cases with hinges and latches that go for much less than the LDO type cardboard style.

                    Darrell,

Hard black case with hinge, not the LDO cardboard type.

In that case, my estimate would drop by about 1/2, more along what the fellows above estimated

                        Hi,

I would say $450 - $700 USD. A cased example would be on the higher end of this price range depending on condition and whether or not the case was marked with a MM that matched the cross marking.

At shows, mint EK2s with MM can run from $125 - $175 (some as high as $225), depending on the MM and, of course the dealer.

What state do you live in and who are you buying from again?

The lowest I've ever paid for an EK2 was $125 for a mm'd average quality one with ribbon about a year & a half ago.

Just bought a minty one from Lakeside Trader for $199ish a month or two ago.

I need to get with your program, show me them clean examples for around $90!
