    A RK question?

Can any of the Iron Cross gurus tell me if they have seen an RK marked L 13 or if they know of reproduction pieces using the L 13 hallmark?
    Thanks,
    Garth

I've never seen repro RKs marked with "L/13" but I wouldn't be surprised if they existed.
As for real ones, "L/13" (Paul Meybauer) made most other grades of the EK (both classes, both class clasps, Oaks and Swords), so there is some speculation that they also made RKs.
    Have you seen one?

I was thinking the Brits changed from 7 to L/13

              Roy,
The fellow that has the RK is what I call a "closet" collector. He is a knowledgable generalist with a keen interest in Brit medals. He goes to sales, antique shops, estates, etc but belongs to no organizations, isn't computer freindly and has minimal contact with other collectors. The RK comes in a group comprised of the RK, IC 1st, IC 2nd, bronze close combat, Infantry Assault and a silver Wound Badge "supposedly" aquired in Italy from a captured Infantry officer but we've all heard these stories before. The grouping is not for sale but may be up for trade on some Brit medals I have. I haven't be able to get pictures yet as I don't want to press the guy to hard and get him "goosey" as he valued the group in trade not cheap but below market value. The RK ribbon is definatly genuine and has seen use. The loop is silver, well finished but unmarked. The cross it self is marked L/13 and 800 left to right as you face it and are matching in depth and style, very fine and small. The frame seams are some of the best I've even seen almost undetectable. The finish is very good showing light wear on the highlights. The rest of the medals in the grouping are genuine but not rare the 1st cl. does match the RK in fit and finish. I will try to get some pictuures of the RK but have to be careful with this fellow and not scare him off.
Sorry I couldn't post pictures on the RK yet,
              Garth
