    RK guide for idiots

I have just stumbled across this RK. I have no knowledge of these, but would like to add one to my collection.Based on some research, I think this one is a so called rounder, but what do I know. Please assist. I apologise for the quality of the pics, they were done in a hurry. Jacques

            Hello

In my opinion this isn't a genuine war time produced RK. It certainly looks like the 'Rounder' fake, although I believe that there is another fake on the market which looks similar to the 'Rounder' but isn't actually a 'Rounder', and I suspect that this is one of these newer fakes.

            Regards
            David

This looks like the "old" Rounder to me (the inner corners on the "new" Rounder are much closer together), but Dietrich would know for sure.

It is the original "Rounder" and it was not made by Floch but rather "Made in Germany" - just about 30 years to late.

Just a thought. Many of the "old-time" fakers we know (including Floch) spent a lot of time seeking out old suppliers and small firms who were original manufacturers during the war. I wonder if the original Rounder owed it "genesis" to a set of dies created during the war by a small company, but not used (or used very little) and then acquired and put back into use in the late '60's or early '70's?

Ahh! Do you know the "real" genesis?
