There are modern books on the subject that list holders of these awards....some now out of print....theres even a CD!

Or do you mean period books? Ehrenliste, Ehrenblatt etc?

all the recipients are known and listed in at least a couple of books on the subject, but with over 24 thousand, its a long list!!
