What do you think of this Oak Leaves with swords? Sorry about the pictures bein so damn big. Im workin on the size issue. If any one wants some clearer pictures Ill email them to you. This is an item that I can buy but want to make sure its real before I pay out the money.

Its based on a postwar set intended for the 1957 pattern de-nazified Knights Cross, but with a spurious L/12 mark added. These are made in England and available from a guy named Nick Morigi who advertises as "The Regalia Specialist". They are openly sold as copies. I think they are around $40 or so.

What is the first thing that comes to mind that says repo?

        For starters:

        1. No detail on the back of the swords.

        2. Sloppy marks on the back.

        3. Top sword crossguards touch the blades.

        4. Sloppy construction.

        5. Wrong metal color.

          Justin,

Just compare yours with the one illustrated here, which is a real Steinhauer & Luck set. Compare the quality of the striking.

Yuri's point 2, 4 and 5 are quite correct, but the real wartime Steinhauer pieces did have flat backed Swords so that doesn't necessarily indicate a fake.
