Please enlightened me. Where the hell is his junk made? Does he use legitimate award manufacturers? Does he have origional dies? China? Pakistan? Latvia? Also, what is the list of type of awards he has produced and how far back has he been doing this? Any info is welcome. Regards, Ron.

well i don't know anything about this loser Floch, but he cant be using original dies, at least not from ek1/2 since every bit of a floch made cross is plain DEAD UGLY. From beading to hardware, from 'rust' to dates. Its just no good.
I first heard about Floch here on the lovely WAF... the one and only!!!!!

If I recall well, Floch started of with left-over stock that he bouht everywhere.
After that he had his "own" awards made.
Loser?
no way.
Crook??
Yes.
He has abused (and still does) the lack of knowledge amongst collectors.
There's only one thing you can do about it: study!!
(but he has been around for almost 50 years, that says enough, doesn't it.......)
Best regards,
Ben

It is very hard to stay mad at John. He is a likeable rogue and is really extremely knowledgeable. I hear that he is retiring soon and has already sold the great bulk of his badge inventory (both good and bad, mostly bad) to an American dealer, who was seen leaving a recent show with box after box.
I will personally miss him after all these years, despite the "learning curve pain" he has obviously inflicted.

Dennis - I'm not defending the bad things he has done! It's just that he's not the one-dimensional evil person most people picture him as, dealing only in pure fakes. He has had perfectly real items, too, and has found and brought to the marketplace all sorts of good things (the hoard of '30' gold wound badges, the 'JFS' IAB's still in tissue, etc., etc.) in addition to the ones he is infamous for. If you need help on a translation, he'll do it. If you are looking for photos of Klessheim for research, he'll let you scan his, if you have a question about some obscure insignia, he'll tell you. Will he sell you a big time fake? Of course he will and with a smile, too. So long as you know that in advance, you can fend for yourself. That's all. Amoral? You bet!
