RK of the KVK opinions requested

    Hi Guys,
I have been offered this RK of the KVK, maker "4", ".935" marked. Can I get some feedback from knowledgable persons, as this is out of my area of expertise.

    Thanks,

    Gerard

...must say it looks very "fat"/Thick over the inner arms/centerplate.
Better photos needed and some closeups.

      Just a gut-feeling, but: no!
Ribbon looks like the sort that "cracks" easily?

I think it does have a change, but better pictures would be needed. I have compared it with pictures in Gordon Williamsons book and this one looks very much like the one in the book. Your cross have tha same kind of marking and you can still see some small spots of the matte frosting left in some corners.
The swastika looks good and the date 1939 looks to be the same.
But if you have better pictures that would help.

I'm not an expert on these crosses, but I don't really like what I see.
Isn't the cross a bit thick?
I havve seen some very good copies, but in all cases the thickness was the big give-away....

            Best regards,
            Ben

S&L RK KVK's are supposed to be thicker than the other versions, aren't they?

Leroy, I don't know, but that is what I have seen so far.
                Thick is usually fake....

                  Ben,
I agree with you. I've never had one of these (an S&L), but I thought I remembered reading here (or on some other forum) a post by someone (who appeared pretty knowledgeable) that the S&L's were just made a bit thicker. Hope someone else will know for sure!
                  Best,
                  Leroy

...the lack of answer is the the key...

These S&L rkkvk are extremely rare...wonder if any piece can be found in any WAF-member´s collection!?

Gordon W. got one...(or at least had one) and he´s located on GMIC so...the best way to get a better answer is to...

Here is a photo of a zink one by S&L posted in a recent thread. Unfortunately, the rear wasn't shown, but this one certainly APPEARS to have the same design features.

                        kvk with swords

i had one of these a few years back, i will have to find the photos, but the 935 and 4 are as i recall identical. this cross is rare, i wish i had my example back, the ribbon is hard to judge from the photos, but the crosss in my opinion is a good one. i had mine checked out by bill shea who actually helped when i sold mine to a cautious buyer. with that much patina, you just know the silver content is high.

                          ...still not sure...

Comparing to the rkkvk below the "1939" doesn´t look the same...I think!
But perhaps better pictures can tell another story!?

The "1" in 1939 appears to be closer to the "9" in the one posted by 'jagdpanther'.
