I've never seen one like that before. I don't like it. Everything looks bad to me.
I know many of these were fabricated by jewelers, but this doesn't look like one of them. The cross rimms are all out of wack, the arms are strange, and the attachments do not look to me to be well made by German craftsmen. I'd let that one go and look for another.

This is the puzzle. It is a ground dug cross. The question really is, how long it was in the ground?
I don't like it either, but I really don't know enough about this type to make a judgement. I thought, however, that something with the name Deschler should look more refined.

            Hi Erik,

I did not dug this up. I found it on another web site and was curious about the originality. I guess the damage is rost and age. I just don't know enough about this type to make a judgement.

Do you really think I'm a grave digger?

No sir, I was jus trying to be funny but the dents could be from a garden tool.

                Hallo Dietrich,

IMO this is a buried bogus badge.

                1) There is a fake combo that uses this B.H.Meyer style clasp and screw attachment system which is quite similar to the fake you show

                2) Look at the obverse flange parts of the rim. This is incredibly bad craftsmanship with the flange being very slim in some parts, fat in others. This is not caused by corrosion or any digging tool.

                3) Deumer "seal" looks not very believable, letters look modern to me.

                Cheers, Frank

                  Danke Frank,

there seems to be a new business venture: dig it in - find it - dig it out, alas! It is real!! Next step it goes to ebay or a friend for a friendly price.

One last question: What about the spange itself?

                    Dear Dietrich,

Hard to tell. Looking at the date, this spange looks more like a real B.H. Meyer than the "Raptor-fake" but still I would have doubts about its credibility.
