Artur told me in correspondence that he always worr his original RK at the RKT meetings only the swastika facing inwards. He's very proud of his RK and the circumstances under which he earned it and rightly so should be able to wear it with pride. His RK was presented to him by his General and not by Hitler.

I didn't know it was repainted on the reverse. Artur never mentioned that to me before.

Richard, there are more who wears their original KC (only backwards because of german regulation).

              Yes, its Artur Becker Neetz.

              The back of his KC.....

              The awarding.

I assume his regimental commanding officer? Perhaps this is the officer who present the RK to him. In his letters he mentioned it was his General.

Martin, as you've held it personally I'm sure you're right it's repainted, it just looks worn smooth from the pics.

Martin, as a side note, of all the others that also wear their original RK's back-to-front are the swastika's also displaying paint loss through wear?

One of my RK's is attributed to a RKT who passed away in 1988. The swastika has the most wear which I have always assumed is from wearing it back-to-front at ODR meetings.

Nice pictures. I can't see any oakleaves on the cores.. are they wearing their original wartime presented KCs?

                      and, who are they?

Herbert fries looks a lot like the ss man in the movie "life is beautiful" with bennini as an italian jew who gets put in a camp with his wife and kid, he really resembles that actor who played the ss man who was his friend before he is put in the concentration camp who is obsessed with riddles. By the way did the owner pass away or is he still living ?Nice cross.
