Just experience and my personal opinion. I never saw a 62 in another case when acquired directly from a vet family. I owned four 62 Tombak crosses, all in named cases. Two of those I sold on the e-stand.
One might argue that later war, zink 62s, like George´s, were presented in different cases. Possible. But yours is an early Tombak 62 and belongs IMO in an Kerbach & Oesterhelt case.
Another logic point against your case being a 62 case is: why change the case design if not for economical reasons? Economically changing to your type case does not make sense because it is at least as well made as an Kerbach & Oesterhelt case.
Btw, I do think your case is a doubtless original, just not the right case for that maker´s cross. Just in case you thought I was putting your case down.
