Deumer sample board w/ EK1 & Spanish Cross

Here is a neat item that I came across from a very old collection which I just bought. It looks to be a sample board from Wilhelm Deumer. All the medals appear to be originally attached. I cannot see any of the maker marks on the backs without removing them from the board, with the exception of the wound badge which does come off without cutting the string. It is marked L/11.

I am by no means a medal collector but I thought that this looks very attractive. I just sort of wonder why the list is in Dual language; German and English?

but it isnt a sample board. Its something that the factory sold postwar to soldiers and so on. All medals are ww2 made though. There is some nice awards there. I think the board is a food tray

spange is L/11 too, and as far as I can tell, in the last stages of it's die flaw...
I wonder if these were all struck post war? very interesting
I've always prefered L/11 spangen without flaw

Have other collections or "Sample Boards" been discovered in the past purchased by ???? Postwar?
Being rather new to the hobby, I also wonder if any Salesman wartime boards ever surfaced?
Ken, It would be tough to be in your shoes!!!! Now... Do I keep it? or sell it off? You know a few years after selling you will kick yourself!

Deumer Boards

I have found three of these boards directly from WWII US Army veterans who bought them directly from the factory after the war was over. Deumer made these up for the US boys as souviners at the end of the war to earn money to set up post war business and get rid of the leftover merchandise. This is why the dual language and the numbers and list is with the boards.
One of the boards that I saw in a veteran's hands, but could not buy, had the German Death Order Pin Back on it, so some great medals are still out there in veteran's or veteran's family hands.
No salesman's sample board here, just a way for a company to do business after the battle.

My best friend in grade school, his dad was a supply sergeant in postwar Germany. In his basement he had boxes full of 1' X 1 1/2' white cardpaper 'boards' with assortments of badges and medals tied down to them that he had sent home to his wife. We 'borrowed' many of these 'neat' things and lost many playing marbles at school. I can remember sitting in class one day and wiggling all (4) pronges off of the back of a 2nd class spange. I fell in love with an EKII, which I had for years. His dad brought back daggers, flags, helmets, you name it. He's passed away now, and his treasures all sold by his son years ago. Here's exactly what I am talking about...some forum member posted this months ago, and I captured the image - exactly the same!

Its only hindenburg crosses but very nice.
