See what I mean though, Ludwig.
              They weren't worth seeing!
              Just look at those 'swords'.
              Or, are they daggers?

Yes, perhaps Mr. Milshop is just a nice guy, who wants to save us from vomiting?

this looks like the Braille version of the diamonds for blind people...

Speaking of diamonds. Today I got Adrian Forman´s new book "Bravery, courage and valour". It´s a must for all collectors of KCs and SCs. Many nice photos of diamond sets. As in all books there are some – IMO – questionable sets, but I think we are used to that.

I have it, too. I was surprised about the quantity of Diamonds, Grand Crosses, Oakleaves and Swords sets variations in existence! I did not know that so many companies produced so many things - and most of them are in the collection of the author. What a lucky guy!

Of course, it was necessary to show also the Rounder as a real cross .....

A book with a lot of color pictures!

I don´t think that Adrian Forman has all the pieces marked with his name. I guess it´s photo he is referring to.

That could be, too. So he knows some people who have some very 'rare' items. Like the many pictures from Klietmann. I bet even Niemann didn't know that there were so many L 12 (sic!) variations!

The book is not a "what is real and how do I find out"-book. It is a nice colorful history of the high level awards and I like having it!

All I was trying to convey was that there are MANY copies of these awards and we shouldn't just think that the postwar Klein ones are the best. There are others which are better made and closer to the originals than those. Ludwig was quite right when he noted that "nothing beats" an original set of the Diamonds!
                                Regards,

                                Hi Leroy,

                                You are correct.

The one, I have posted a while ago and was seen here, was sold for 60.000 EUR + 18%. I dont know if it was an original or not.
