Hi Peter !

This problem with the colour also happend with EK-ribbons. Per regulations the colour SHOULD BE red, but - especially on early ribbons - it sometimes looks more orange than red. Your ribbon is a nice original, no problem with it.

orange is just another variety. as said before the ek2 and the kvm as well as the kvk all came in orange also. they are scarcer and by default seeked after more by some collectors. personally, i have both varieties in kvm, kvk, and ek.
