    KC-ribbon - good?

I have this for a while - cant even remember where I got if from - and have just re-discovered it while sorting my collection.

Is it a good one? If so, what can I ask for it?

    Thanks in advance.

Without being an expert, I would say no...based on the edge of the ribbon.

I think I remember it should be more "un even".

It can be very hard to judge ribbons (among other things! ) from just a picture, but in this case... No way! IMO.

                    Dear Gran Sasso,

One of the things that people tend to look for on orig RK ribbons is the construction of the ribbon's edge, which is what people are referring to in this thread. On original RK ribbons the edge is rippled, not straight.

If you do a search on the forum you will see pictures of what I speak of.

                      Hello Patrick,

These ribbons are currently being reproduced in Yugoslavia. On one side of the ribbon the return loop is correct, on the other the edge has a cross-stitched pattern. You will see the difference by examining the ribbon under a loop. The cross-stitched edge almost looks like a straight edge to the naked eye. Both edges should have this 'return' loop. Also, the number of weaves is less than an original, and is of a slightly different color/dye. These are reproduced for nearly every known medal in the world's history. They have flooded eBay for the last five years.

Thanks Robert - and all the others too, of course: So I throw it back in the "bits and pieces"-box, maybee one day a youngs collector would be happy with a gift "starter-box".
