    Hi,

Some photos of a recent arrival. First time owning one of these. Looking for feedback.

    Marked L18 - beyond that...

    Any thoughts?

Looks good to me. One of the more rare makers and a nice cross too.

On page 131 in Gordon Williamson's new book on the WMC there is an L/18 with the stamp on the pin rather than on the badge itself and the catch in the book is a little wider flat wire than yours. But, the cross itself is exactly as yours. Also, the pin and hinge are the same as well. I would say either yours or the example in the book is a variant. Actually, I like your better with the stamp on the cross. Congratulations on a nice cross!

Thanx for the nod of approval. Took the gas pipe on this group of medals; looks like the other six or seven awards are toast so it's great to hear I have something that turned out okay.

Was a bit concerned about the placement of the L/18 but finally found another thread showing it here.

          Thanx guys!

            Rick,

Here's an 'L/16' stamp in this same area...

I have some 50/50 in my files with the mm on the pin vs marked on the lower arm, so....

Like Robert I've then compared the crosses and don't see something alarming here.
