Very nice pair of Steinhauer & Lück EKI’s

Thanks to a fellow member I could acquire this very nice unmarked S&L EKI on the left. I had for some time my eyes on this piece because it has the exact same die flaws as my marked EKI on the right. I made some inquiries about the cross some time ago but he didn’t want to sell at that time. When the time came and he wanted to sell this cross he still remembered me. I want to thank him for this.

The only two differences I can see is that one is marked with S&L makers mark 4 and the other one isn’t. The other difference is that the unmarked cross has a more brassy colour as you can see clearly on the picture with the hinges.

Maybe someone has an explanation for this?

          Thanks,
          Pascal

The pin was brazed on instead of soldered. Brass is used in brazing whereas a tin or silver based solder is used for soldering.

Not a lot of reactions to this thread, wonder why?

I think the second picture of the two crosses is one of the best I ever took and I like the one with the rims as well.
