B H Mayer '26' EK1 COPY carton

Here are pics of a copy carton. There was a thread early 2002 about these. I have had 2 original cartons and both were different, but originals seem to have a waxy feel to the card.

Note even the number on the flap is reproduced.

Do you find that the card/paper of the repro' carton is thicker than original cartons?

Already I think I see a couple of differences, I think I'm right in saying only on the repro is there the half circle recess on the bottom.

I have an original example of an outer carton box for a Mayer EK1 Spange that has the half circle recess on the bottom. The difference in my box compared to the fake shown here is the color of the cardboard's interior and there are small differences in the style of the printing of the company name on the side of the box. Notice the letter "Y" in the name Mayer compared to the original on the other thread started by Rick.

Hi John,

I only mean't in relation to Rick's pic, Neils came from Detlev also so Rick could assume with confidence Detlev is conversant with right and wrong on these now. I think no worries on Ricks carton..........I'm jealous.

A spange with an outer carton ! Now that I would love to own, is there a thread or post with a picture of your delight. If not would you be so kind as to post a pic of it, I've never seen one before, another thing for the wants list.
