          You have to look at the shape, quality, beading, numbers. Our own Dietrich Maerz has a great book out that really helps you identify and see what the genuine ones look like.

            If you are new to this hobby, it has been said many times before, and it is hard advice to follow, but buy good books, learn about what you are specifically after and then make purchases. Anything else really will part you from your money and leave you with fakes. Unfortunate as it is , this hobby is filled with unscrupulous people. Fakes abound.
