Quite pleased, I am, to have snagged this mint, cased & boxed 1939 EK1 from Detlev this AM! I don't think you could get any better on condition!

Dear Stogie-Rick,
Once you will hold that in your hands, could we please do a very thorough comparison between outer cartons by Mayer? I nvere really grasped what makes some bad and some (which look the same to me) good.
P.S.: I have one to compare (clueless if it is good or bad).
Cheers, FrankCheers, Frank

Thanks!
Yep, pretty thrilled and thanks for the kind words. I'm just a sucker for mint & boxed items.... it's all those years as a toy & train collector....
it was always (and still is) condition, condition and condition.
Of course we also had the three "R's", which were to be avoided at any/all costs!
Repair, Repaint, Restore....
Only naughty boys did that! Of course the manufacture of fakes was pretty far and between, but I've seen some repair/restore jobs that you couldn't tell without an X-ray and/or gas spectromoty!

Yes, please can we see some shots of the outer carton, printing etc, even a shot of the inside of the carton please.
I've been waiting to see an outer carton for one of these EK1 for awhile.
Thanks,
