      Well, no consolation I know, but it's German made at least in my opinion, it looks like it has the Coburg repro traits on this example.

        What's particularly bad about this is that the case seems to have deliberately 'aged' to deceive the buyer.

          Yes - and the pencilled in numbers are written in the European style, with a '1' that resembles a '7'. Who sold you this 'item', or can you not say at the moment for fear of jeopardising any refund?
