Matched case for cross?

As strange as it seems to me, what is the possibility of a '7'-marked cross (Meybauer) coming in an LDO case? I would assume it would/should be an 'L/13'-marked cross.

If the cases were sold seperatly, which I would say is a possiblity, then the recipient could have purchased an LDO case and put his 7 marked cross in it.

If the Cross and Case have been together since May-45, than Steve is most likely right? How many cases were misplaced after the Cross was originally awarded? Probably a good guess is 20%? and the vet purchased a replacement later? Another combination possibility not mentioned is Unmarked Meybauer with LDO case....
So are you going to show us this mis match duo Robert? Or is it somthing you are considering for purchase. If you like the cross in that LDO case, I am looking for an LDO Etui for several months now! We could go in on it?
