My effort to create a 'definite' makers-code & LDO listing...

    Dear all,

Since it seems that the maker-codes in medals & badges are getting more and more interesting (for years this was not that important and 'we' were just collecting the various badges and medals without thinking too much about the makers-codes) I thought it a good idea to try to create a 'definite' listing of the various maker-codes and used LDO-numbers.

The various publications on the subject matter (like the books by Angolia, Previtera, Williamson etc.) sometimes differ and provide even different codes and/or spelling!

I more or less compiled all of these into this annexed listing. I am fully aware that there must be ommissions and mistakes but with some assistance of all of you (preferably using for example medal-/badges carton pouches and or etui's) we might be able to create such a 'definite' list. Whenever I encountered different manners of spelling I added the encountered variations: these are placed between () and end with a question-mark.

It is just an idea...and I am very interested in hearing your comments, additions and or changes....

I have added a link so that you can see the list in PDF. format....Just follow the leads/instructions and the programme will let you save my initial document on your own PC as a MS-Word (.doc) file.

Pls. sent me a mail when you want the list in another format.....

    Thanks in advance!

I wonder if anyone really knows if the SS used Roman letters instead of Sigrune
in stamps applied to articles of furniture and leather cases.
