Is or were some one making restrike of the EK2 after WW2 using a totally worn down original die?
Or is this "just" someone who did make a die and making crosses and mark them all different?

I don't know. I tried to match the frame to original ek's but couldn't find it (Yet).
But the last ones with this frame are now being sold in the UK as mm24 ek1's.
And you may choose if you want the aged version or the mint version.
If you really want to find this out, I would send a message to the seller.

'Rick S' has a marked '16' in the 'EKII pic list' thread...

          Mark,

This mark is on a cross I own. I DO NOT know for certain whether this is an original period stamping or not. When I have time to properly identify the cross I will know...

this is a 16 cross that I owned and now have sold. I came from a VERY old collection and could be followed back to the 50's. Notice the faulty frame on the right arm. Robert, the maker mark matches yours and Rick S

                Here's the cross...

I'm going to get a better shot of my maker mark. It appears as if there is a horizontal bottom to the '1', but there is not. I'll have it shortly.

                Thank you,
                Robert

The cross that Daniel has pictured is now in my collection and discussed here: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...3&highlight=16
It's good to know a bit of history and that it can be traced back to the 50's. Thank you.

This is the mark I would expect to see on a "16".

One more thing on this subject of the fake 16's , 84's & 113's is does anyone know where they are coming from or who is/was making them ?
