    Thoughts on my EK2 mm11

    Hi Gents,
watching carefully with macro shots my EK2 mm 11 (Grossmann & Co.) , i noticed the overlapping ribs on the corners of the frame (pic 3) and the '1939' date not centered and moved on the right (and maybe little extruded) (pic 4).
What are you opinions about my thoughts? Paranoia?
    Every your opinions are welcome.
    Alex

          Hi Alex,

almost every cross shows some imperfections or flaws under magnification, so I shouldn't worry to much about that.

Die-cutting was done by hand, dies starting to show wear after being used for the 100tyh or 1000th time etc.

Your ek2 looks very nice to me!

          Best regards,
          Ben

Are you sure that this picture is from a mm11?
From what I see it looks like a frame of a round 3.
Looking at the paint I expect the version with the Swass on pedestal.
Can you please show the rest of the ek and mark?

                    Nope.
If you have a round 3 with a marked ring that means nothing more then a replaced ring.
Not that your round 3 is made by Grossmann.

I still have to see the first marked round 3 ek2.

                    Best regards,
                    Ben

Looks exactly like my mm11 . Even down to the crosshatching . Exactly . I was always a bit wary about my 11 stamp but after seeing Alikn`s mark i am now reasured . Nice original cross in my opinion .

                        This is getting interesting.

Can you post your ek also (including ring and core)?
Does your ek2 also have the round 3 core (with swass on pedestal) ?

Do you mean your not round three ek mm11, has identical frames?

Question to owners of round three ek-2s with swass on pedestal,
... how big is the ring on your ek?
...on my is a little smaller than regular.

They come with big and small rings.
The small ring is usually found on parade-mount crosses, so I guess the ring was replaced before it was parade-mount.

                              Best regards,
                              Ben
