          Dear Ben,

i did not want to question your price. Everybody should know on his own how much to pay or ask for a special good. If you read my posts, you will see that i mentioned twice that your price is very good compared to the actual market price.

My intention was to give kay my general opinion on Juncker prices since it seemed to me that he has not much experience in this special case. Not more and not less.

Ben, you are a very well experienced EK collector as well. Don't you agree with what I have said at the beginning of this thread concerning rarity compared to other makers and quality?

Now let us calm down and hope that Germany will win the goblet

            Hi Stefan,

            I am calm, no problem.

The problem that I had with your first reply is that, although you mention my price is good compared to the market price, you basically advise everyone not to buy because the price is overrated.

About Juncker crosses: they do command higher prices, a Juncker kc sells for about 150 % of almost any kc, except for the very rare ones.
            Juncker kc's are not rare.

            What is rare?
Once you start looking good you will find almost everything you are after.
I thought round 3 ek1 were rare, I have found 8 in 2 years time.
            Schinkels?
Yes, pherhaps the Meybauer with the cross-shaped backplate, but I have rounded up 12 or 13 first classes over a short period of time, not even mentioning the doubles that I have sold in that same period.

People look for specific crosses for several reasons: I really like Deschler crosses, they are chunky but far from perfect.
            Others collect specific makers.

Recently I bought an L/10 PB from Carsten Baldes at 450 Euro, a few days later Detlev Niemann sold a similar cross for 220 Euro.

It's up to everyone what they are willing to pay, and lots of collectors have to depend on dealers and online-auctions because they do not live between veterans.
I am verty glad with the Internet.
On one hand it raises the prices, on the other hand: where would I buy without Internet??

Prices of collectibles go up, and I don't see them drop anymore.

But like you say: it's up to every collector to decide what a piece is worth to them.

You didn't do a good enough job keeping your finngers crossed, Germany lost.........

            Best regards,
            Ben

I don't understand the price development of an EK1 "L/12"

There is a lot of more makers, which is more rare than L/12 !!!!

                5 Hermann Wernstein, Jena-Lobstedt
                11 Wilhelm Deumer
19 E. Ferdinand Wiedmann, Frankfurt am Main
                21 Gebr. Godet
                24 Arbeitsgemeinsch, Hanau
                107 Carl Wild
L/14 Friedrich Orth, Wien (Souval Frame)
                L/15 Otto Schickle (DON'T L15 !!!)
                L/19 Ferdinand Hoffstaetter

I don't understand the price as well!!!

My first try to get an L/12 -> I paid 250 Euro, but it was a L/13.
But I'm not worry about this, because L/13 has also a good rating ;-)

If there was a cased L/12, 65 and 20 (L/52) sitting in front of me, I'd jump at the other two before I'd take the L/12 (barring any monetary values).
