It's a good one
Almost every B.H. Mayer EK1 that I have seen has the deterioration of finnish on the reverse (including mine - see below).

Mike : 90% of all 26sers will show this finish deterioration - just the Ag or Ni plated and or lacquered pieces . Only the really early polished/lacquered silver stock pieces do not have that problem . High grade silver plating-mid war pieces- needs a surface coating on the nickel alloy frame . Low grade silver with more alloy metals weathered the times better .
Here a very early 26, first anchor and thick/wide pin type .
