"2" be a Juncker or not "2" be a Juncker

    Hello fellows:

I have checked through past threads on Juncker crosses as I am suspect of this marking. I have no history on the cross other than a friend picked it up. I can not figure out if this cross is a Juncker style piece or not...IE has the marking been added?

I would like to hear opinions.

    Thanks!

    John

I say it's been added. Not sure if there are known 2 marked EK1s out there. Plus the way the mark is added, just doesn't look like a good stamp.

Yes, I do agree, it doesnt look as deep as others ive seen either, but that doesnt mean a thing.

IMO, the cross is an early S&L. The mark, a chisel type, I doubt would be on an early S&L.

The cross is ok, no Juncker, but the mark is "fresh"....

                      Regards,
                      Ben

                        Hello:

I want to thank everyone who graciously commented.

It is ashame that some "vandal" had to do this to the cross!!!!! I wish people would just leave things alone ....but I guess anything for and attempt at a few extra pennies!!!

                        Again, thank you to everybody.

                        John

Can anyone show a good example of a 2 marked Junker EK1?

I know Juncker marked their DK pins with the number '2'. As for EKI's I had better not say, although I do know that 'L/12' was commonly used...

Yes, I know L/12 marked ones are out there, albeit often faked and always overpriced, but I don't remember ever seeing a 2 anywhere.
