          Reassembled?

I believe this EK1 shows the typical marks of a denazified award. If you look at the spots I have circled on the photo of the L/15, you can see where the beading has been abraded. Look at the photo next to it of my denazzed L/18; the spots are very similar. Also, in the photo of the reverse of the L/15 you can see a "bump" to the left of the pin, also typical of swastika removal.

I'm not making any definitive statements about this L/15 but I thought I would point this out...

Here is a larger photo of my L/18; compare it to the picture of the L/15 obverse at the beginning of this thread...

BTW, how do you guys post those large photos? I dragged that L/15 to my desktop and it was over 2 MB but I cant seem to upload again nor can I post a picture over 250K.

This cross has been tampered with. The typical Souval dieflaw is in the wrong place. It should be on the upper arm. This means that the frame has been separated from the reverse plate and then reattached.

It appears that the cross was POSSIBLY taken apart and had a denazified core replaced with an untouched core; the cross was then reassembled, and incorrectly at that...

Once again, I'm not the final word, but I believe strongly this is a denazified award that has been "repaired"...

                I've been wrong before

Great information. Thanks...it is very tough to argue with your logic. More knowledge for me to use in the future.

The frames and the hinge and pin system are original, but the core is from a fake.

Here is pic of an EK fake with the same core.
