    First EKII - Klein & Quenzer A.G.

Visited My. Barry Turk(emedals.ca) today and picked up a trio of items. I had bought it simply for the EKII as it was in good shape and maker marked.

I'm new to the militaria scene but I think its a fine looking EKII. It's maker marked '65'. What does everyone else think?

VERY nice. I like that particular core better than any other in the K&Q crosses.

Well im new so I i have to ask...

Particular core? Were there other types by this maker? Or are you talking about the matte vs glossy finish to them?

Please educate an amateur on his item

Yes, K&Q used other cores. Here are some various shots of my K&Q's, some repeats, some different...

I think Robert has answered your question by blitzkrieg!
Nice looking cross though for your first.
I prefer the matte finish on EKs rather than the shiny core but then again some shiny cores from different makers look good, especially against different levels of patina.

                Thanks for providing those pictures!

Its interesting to see that one maker's cores had very small differences in the swastika and the date.

Yes, those differences are called 'variants', which K&Q had many of. They also supplied parts to others firms, thus creating other variants. EK collecting never ends.

K&Q is my favorite manufaturer, the cores and frames are so beatyful!
