    E.K.1 to a seafarer

    Hi all,
pictured below is an I.C. 1st class which apparently belonged to a u- boat man, (no paperwork to support this) though it has a salty look ,what are your oppinions ??

Also pictured is a uboat badge from the same person (apparently) Both are screw backs

All i can say they look a bit to worn for orginal. Orginal or not they are not worth that much in that shape. And i cant see any Uboater make that to his awards!.

      Hi Mikael,

thanks for you reply, i know that the condition of the UBoat badge is particulary poor ,but there again how many screw-backs of these do you see??
And i also belive that these are not jewler converted / purchased badges more field (ocean / dockyard ? ) converted (unless some one else knows different?) this is what i am trying to get information on from the members as many have visited the thread bur other than yourself no one has made any comments.

      Thanks

      Ashley

The EKI looks to be an early screw back example. Other than the condition it seems ok to me from the pictures. The sub badge I"m not too wild about . It seems way to soft in details and is of a much later era. One would logically assume that the sub badge have a similar level of quality as the EKI.

          Just some thoughts.
An opinion should be the result of thought, not a substitute for it.
