    EK1 and EK2 question

I have a guy offering to sell me a few pieces of nazi mem for $425. Since the group includes a marked EK1 and an EK2, if everything's real I'm assuming it's a good deal since the cheapest EK1 I've seen so far goes for around $275 by itself... anyone mind checking out these items and letting me know what they think?

I know the sword is part of a set of 8(?) and there's a related set of axes... I saw a thread somewhere about them once, so I know they're not particularly valuable...

The German Women's Worker Badge I know a little about too... the HJ pin and the other stuff I'm more or less clueless about... any info that anyone has would be greatly appreciated.

I would ask for better pictures of the front and back of the EK1 and 2.

I guess they don't show up in full size in the posts... If you download them (or at least when I DL'ed them to my computer) they show up pretty well with decent resolution, they look ok to me but I'm no expert... I can always ask for more I suppose...

Can anyone tell if any of them are legit with these pics? If no red flags go up with any item looking bogus maybe I'll take a shot at them...

From these small pictures I believe you have a '20' zimmermann ek1 or a godet '21', and the ek2 looks ok as well.

                        Maker mark?

                        Hello and Welcome to WAF,

Keeping in mind that to make a proper authentication of an award, be it an EK or other, better photos would be needed, I feel you have good pieces from what I can see.

I notice in your description you mention...

"the group includes a marked EK1 and an EK2"

If either of the EK have a maker mark (on pin or back plate of EKI and ribbon ring of EKII) it would be helpful to know it when conducting a review. There are some cases where a maker mark has been added post war to inflate the value of an otherwise unmarked item. As the mark added is not always the correct one it would be another point we could check for you as it would aid in recognition of a valid piece or possibly reveal a fake or altered one.

                        Kind regards,
                        Stu
