EK II paint adherence problem, nickel?

Hello!

I have this S. Jablonski "128" with a real bad paint adherence problem!

The core's magnetic, but when this big chip of paint fell of as I took it out of it's pocket the other day... ...underneath, the core was really shiny..

What do you guys think, nickel plated iron core?

Would the plating cause these kinds of problems?

Hi Friedrich,

well, it is obviously plated, don't know with what though.

L/54 ek's usually have the same problem, after a longer period the paint comes off pretty easy....
