    Hi,

Some of you are stronger than me to id an EK2 Maker, I am not really sure...

I know it is one of the most often asked question on this forum but "Who is the maker of this one ????"

    Thanks for your help

        Michael,

I had a look this morning and compared it with my mmd crosses.. The inner beading showed simularities with some of them, but no 100 % match of frame and core.. I only have 33 different makers though..

          It looks like a '76'.

            Adrian,

I thought that one was close too, as the maker was discussed just the other day, the inner frame.. The more I look at it, the more I think you're right.. (inner corner beading eyes)..

Thanks Adrian and Friedrich for this identification.
I have au mm76 on the way, it will be interesting to compare both when it arrives !!!

Here's a montage to compare your cross (on the left) and my marked '76' (on the right). Although I see similarities in the frame, there are differences in the core, date, etc. Perhaps a '76' variant. From the files I have in my computer, the frame of the '70', IMO, is a better match to your cross. But, I am still studying them.

I've lightened the date on my '76' and added it to your montage Robert. The angle of the photo is similar on ours but the angle on Michael's is slightly different, looking up at the bottom of the date.

                    Robert and Adrian,

The thing with my 76's core is it has an abundance of paint, even more so than Roberts (sorry, no pics right now), why I at first thought that the numbers and swaz weren't a match.. And the number design on Michaels cross still looks different to me, but it's a little hard to tell whether it's because of the extra thick layer of paint or not..

Yes, I can see a different angle to the top of the '3', and the angle of the left top of the '3'. I hope this illustration helps...

                        nice observations !
I think the "3" seems definitivly different ! I already seen a similar "3" but where ???? Will look at my other crosses.....

I think that comes from the way you angle the cross between your fingers while looking at it, the more you angle it forward, the more different the left top part of the 3 looks from the 3 on your photo taken straight on.. Maybe that's what your trying to say.. Am I making any sense here?

Possibly so. Lets make a retake of the cross straight-on and see what that looks like...

I meant more or less the other way around.. The more you look at the date of a 76 from an angle underneath (say the cross is flat on a table and you're looking from the edge of the table to be extreme), the more it will look like Michaels pic..

The more you look at the date straight on (if the cross is flat on a table and your looking from on top of it), it will look like the date on your pic Robert..

Just an observation from holding my 76 up to a light in different angels..
