    EKll Spange

I bought this a few years ago as I thought it was interesting. Now I would like to know if it is real or not. As far as I can tell it is not maker marked.

    Thank you,
    Pat

    Pat,

This may be a match to yours...

Are there two pins on the reverse, round pins?

This photo belongs to 'stdub'. Please, if this OK to use.

It's very close. I see a difference in the '1's in the date box. And, the beaks look a little different too. Close.

          Robert,

Yes, they are very close. My badge has flat pins, though. Thank you for posting the pictures.

          Regards,
          Pat

uh hem, excuse me, of course I know what stdubs is...
this die (maybe an L/15 variant?) has a split pin reverse, and I've never seen another like it!
                regards

                    that's it
I'd bet my grandpop's wooden leg that it's an L/15 too
check the die craziness going on, top left chest feathers... gotta be a match, many things different, but many the same...
                    regards

Right. The only 'big' difference I see is the '1' in 1939. It does look quite similar. The finish is a consideration also. I've kept is all this time hoping to see a match, and this is close. ???

                          date's different, eagles match (ish)
I think this is a case of different dies, same mother die
love to see another one day
                          regards

A mother die would produce like dies. How do you account for the differences then?
