    Schinkel Ek1 Screwback

    Opinions?

    #2
A nice original schinkel EK I by Paul Meybauer.
It's the first screw back version by this maker which I see.
There are schinkel EK I's with hinge and pin system and schinkel EK II's by meybauer, too.

But I believe the screw back is by another 1914 EK I.

Here are pictures from the hinge and pin version with typical Meybauer pin.

In fact it is a nice original with the cross-shaped backplate missing.
You can find another one here, staring at post #6:

        http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...bauer+schinkel

Meybauer made 1914 ek's like this, but also 1939 schinkels an regular shaped 1939 ek's....

Is the Schinkel flat or vaulted?
Can't really see it in the pics...

Here's the reverse of a Prinzen-sized 1914 Meybauer EK 1 with the same designation markings on the attachment device.

                  Thanks guys for your opinions.
Anyone with a spare cross-shaped disc?

This cross is from the same source. I'm having trouble deciding if it's a geniune cross from Otto Schickle. Sorry for the dark pictures.

                        So my suspicions were right.
It was basically for free, no harm done.
