    Wow! You really know your crosses! Outstanding information, and I really, really appreciate you taking the time to post it.

    The document was one I had in my collection (it is now sold and on it's way to the new owner ) and I only used it as a background. It looks much nicer than my dining room table

    Again, thanks for helping me identify the timeframe the cross was produced. I bought this cross to add to a StuG Soldbuch and award document grouping I recently acquired- he was awarded the EKI in 1942, so it's a perfect match

    I'll have a closer look at the catch to see if it is in fact just plated or solid copper. It's in the safe deposit box with the rest of the collection, but I'll swing by and check soon.

      S&L happens to be one of a few crosses I have studied more closely .
      The frame core combinations make it a very interest maker .
