Just one more question about the 27's , do you find the beading is very tight too the frame as i tried the piece of paper test & cannot get it underneath the beading on either of my two ?

Yes, neither of my cores rattle. Keep trying with a thinner piece of paper.

Yep , i tried with a real thin piece & nope they are both as tight as a crabs ass !!!

Well, a crab's ass is nothing I have never inspected before. See if they're magnetic.

His 27 looks like it has some of the frosting left, which is definitely absent from all of the Flochs I've seen.

One question, though: the overlapping lines on the frame are OK for mm27? Are there other makers where this is OK, if everything else is good?

There are quite a few others with cross-hatched beading on the frame, Juncker, W&L just to name a couple. There are many. You might want to do a search on 'cross-hatching'. You'll find a multi-page thread dealing with other makers with this overlapping line feature.
