Maybe it's just the photos, but this doesn't look like an S&L cross to me. Could we see more (and closer) shots of the corner beading, ring and a straight side shot of the cross?

Chris, a very nice original S&L with the contemporary conical tips to the loop ends!!
            Regards,

I will retract my previous comment! This one confused me by the apparent lack of any frosting/lacquer remnants and certain landmarks and finishing techniques I'm used to seeing, but I believe I can now see S&L in this cross after all.

              Congratulations, Chris!

P.S. Perhaps it might be beneficial to all to have some discussion about the finishing of S&L rings. This one, to me, appears to have a ring with a slightly less pronounced "filing ridge" than that frequently seen. Comments?

Leroy, although I haven't (obvisously) seen all S&L Crosses, of those that I have seen, held and studied, NO TWO were exactly alike in the area of the ring...

This area was hand finished to a great degree! And, even though they are so different from Cross to Cross it is THIS feature, among many others that helps us identify a nice S&L
                Regards,
                Dave

                  Good point, Dave!

It is interesting, too, to note the EXTREMELY slight "dip" in the edge of the outer cross frame below and to the left of the "800" mark, showing what might be a slight wavering in the polishing tool used after the initial filing of the ring was completed.

It might be the photo lighting, but the 8 in the 1813 doesn't look right(too narrow and doesn't go down as far in line with the other numbers). That's the only thing I see other than what's been mentioned and clarified..Otherwise a good cross!

                        Dear Chris,

do you see any filing at the yellow points?

and are the damage points at the blue marked points straight in line?

                        best,

                        Jeroen

it reminded me of a cross I owned.

before I tell more about it, just look at it first and compare it with yours.
