EK1 - What to you guys think about this?

    Hello,

Here is one my EK1 what I got today. Very very bad shape but reverse is interesting.

I personally always view anything named like this, especially with ss runes, very suspicious indeed, unless it has photographic proof with the recipient.

Text book example of an (poorly) artificially aged piece this time with a mild acid. The pitting around the text shows this nicely a well faked one you have to use a loop to see it.

At least it is a good reference for this sort of thing.

The text on the back of this is written in sütterlin.
So the first name is actually "Leopold" and the second name is "Kron"(???). I can't really make is out as it is not that clear.
Though I still don't know if the cross is real or not.

              Regards,
              Stephen

...a original SS battlefield relic !!WOW!! , found at the bottom of a Clorex bottle. A fantasy piece for the eBay crowd.

What about the hinge block? Does that look genuine?

IMO a fake with very new rust finish and a suspect hinge and pin system.

are we 110% sure this cross is fake?

hinge and catch looks a bit "strange" IMHO
