    Grand Cross of RK

When I was on vacation in Spain last week I checked out Weitze's update on 11th April and saw that he had a Grand Cross for sale.

This Cross appears now to have found a new home. What I would like to know is, was it the real deal? Also, what was the asking price? Can anyone post any photos?

(This cross may already have been discussed and I missed the thread....)

    Hi Stan,

I actually handled this cross in Hamburg a couple of weeks back, and its fine (IMO).

Usual "so so" standard of construction, and landmark die features.

I remember the cross on that update. I'm sure no price was shown, it was POA.

Any idea how many were manufactured (originals that is)?

There were some marked with "800" and some with "L/12." There were some at Klessheim (from the PKZ), the PKZ gave some out to collectors and to museum(s).

So your guess is as good as mine: more than 20 but less than 100 ... maybe ... maybe not?

                    Grand Cross of EK

Helmut Weitze has now emailed me the price. The Cross is on hold for someone else.

Klietmann´s theory was that about 100 were produced.
