    DKiG cloth, original or not??

    Hey Guys,

Me again! Could anyone please confirm whether this is original or not?
IMO, I think it is, but you`ll have noticed that the metal wreath is missing.
Although this is the case, I`m still happy that its original. But please, any comments would be greatly appreciated Gents!
    Many thanks.

This is not an original. The 'full cloth' versions look different and have at least a date (1941)

I'm not very thrilled at first glance with this piece, either, but it should be pointed out that it looks as though it was made to accept the metal wreath. Maybe more could comment on originality.

If that was really the case then it is a half-finished fake. The are no cloth versions with a roiund cornered swastika and this type of rays.

Not to defend this piece (which, again, I don't like), I must say that Dietrich is right about the appearance of the MAJORITY of cloth DK's, but I have personally seen some of unquestioned originality which deviated from the norm and which were obviously produced "in theatre" or by "cottage" industry.

The reverse looks to have the faked aging I see on a lot of repros, paticularily on this type of backing.

The original cross posted is not one for me.
