It is known that the Spanish and Japanese made eks , and made in a way that is inferior looking compared to German made ones. from a collectors standpoint, i would love to have these in my collection but how bummed would you be if all of your comrades have received a nice frosty K&Q or zimmerman or whatever, and you receive one of these . . .

These things are very contentious.
Have read a few threads on WAF about these & the conclusions seem to be very much decided by who puts one up for opinions.
I don't think coming from Mr Nieman makes much difference as it is a piece of Spanish militaria.
Having said that, i like this more than others i have seen & would love to own one & have some conclusive information on how to spot an original.
there are opinions on these stated here but nobody ever seems able to say what features to look for.
