begginer needs help

i just got an unmarked EK 2 with no ribbon. can somebody please tell me hov the original 30cm ribbon must be placed on the EK that it looks correct- is there any net sites where i can learn to do this correctly.DOES THE FACT THAT IT IS UNMARKED MAKES IT A FAKE?
HOW MAGNETIC MUST IT BE - DOES IT HOLD SOMETHING UP?

Hi Bostjan,

After reading your questions it's clear to me that you probably just started collecting and than this is probably the best place for you to learn.

First concerning the ribbon, I think that an original ribbon on an EK is a little smaller than 30 cm but that isn't important. Concerning the attachment, just pull the ribbon through the loop, fold the ribbon arround the loop to the inside and that should do the trick.

Concerning the maker mark don't worry there are probably more unmarked EK arround than marked ones. So the mm isn't proof of authenticity.

And concerning the last part of you question, I think you missed something. The core of the EK isn't a magnet, so it won't attract anything. Because in most cases it's however made of iron a magnet will stick to it and that makes the core magnetic.
