    on the backside you see the pin ......
    on the front the 1939 and the "HK"

      Backside could be from a 57 EK I, but the front side looks like a fake.

        Thanks for your comments and expertise. The backside is nearly loose from the frontside, and indeed it has a different patina. Can anyone else justify this? I got the medal for free. And, a ww1 Ek1 57 model, were these issued from 1957 and onwards for the veterans? I'm not in the medal thing.

          The newly formed 'red' rust should always send up a red flag. An older rust shows as a flat brown/dark tan...
