About the connection between Meybauer and Wernstein i can say that during the WW1 Wernstein makes the cores for the Iron Cross 1st class and Meybauer put them together, paint them etc.

So why should this connection only exist 1914-1918? Other documents show that Wernstein produce the first class spange.

                    @ ben

in an inventory from 30.06.1948 with a lot of interesting entries, the follwing entry is interesting for this discussion...

Lfd. 70 Broschierung für Spange E.K.1 0,17 kg

i would translate "Bronschierung" with needle system. So the following number 70th shows that in 1948 0,17 kg needle system still exits. So this is for me advice that Wernstein produce this kind of award

If Meybauer produce always clasps i can not say. For Meybauer have make no reasearch till yet.

                    Gruß

that makes me again think that L/13 struck the spangen, 1st and 2nd class
and sold them as their own (we know this as many many examples exist, mm'd and L/13 hardware)

but sold 'some' to L/17 (without hardware)
Wernstein adding the mm, and added their own hardware

the 1948 inventory states only the 'needle system' for the EK1spangen was accounted for

                      do you have a pic?

                      regards

Not only for IC 1 spangen. Also for the IR and other awards that till today not linked to Wernstein.

We will show that in out book about the Woundbadge.
