Not sure, but $15,000 is a bit much. Come on, I don't even see a case. I think at this point people are just throwing prices out there, often doubling previous accepted values, and hoping some sucker will go for it. I believe we may be seeing the pinnacle of the pricing madness. We have to or this endeavour is going to be out of most peoples means.

Yes this KC was on another site for about $5k less a month or so ago, it has a case but I'm not sure if it still comes with the Detlev Niemann COA that was originally included,at least its not mentioned in the description.

Escalating prices are going to drive most people away. There's no way most people can keep adding to thier collections or hope to one day obtain a certain piece. Once you lose hope it's all over.

I agree and it sickens me to see things like this. It´s the same thing with the SS-visors. The price on those are like Argentinas inflation

I had been watching it on CollectRussias site since 2006, I think the price then was $9500,I did try to buy it at that price but it didnt work out,I think appearing in a respected book on the KC seems to have made it much more sellable if the latest price is anything to go by.

                        I agree.

so who are the people who are doing the buying that allows sellers to get away with raised prices?

is there a new breed of collector out there with very deep pockets and a willingness to dip into them in order to get what they want?

                          It is lack of patience.

I find it interesting that the mysterious L13 mark on this KC that was long regarded as a negative and kept this cross unsold for years is now promoted as a feature that rates a big premium,I find KC pricing confusing sometimes

There is much complaining about dealer prices and high prices in general. You should realize though that many of the members of the forum have been seriously collecting for a long time, and have build up a network of contacts. This makes it much easier to not only find items (like a cased Juncker RK), but also get a "reasonable" price on occasion. And that is as it should be, you earn what you get with untold hours of studying within your collecting field. Newer collectors do not have this network to fall back to, and purchase some of the hard to find items when they do find them. In addition dealers often offer a layaway plan which is the only way to purchase a high priced item for many. This is usually not possible when purchasing from another collector, since often the reason for selling is to purchase a different item. And Sal is absolutely correct, a lack of patience does play a big role. I am sure though that the rising prices convince many to "buy now" before the price gets out of range.
I have been looking for a good cased Juncker RK for some time, and know for a fact that these are not easy to find. I am certain that if the cross in question was a textbook example of a correct Juncker KC, it would have been sold long ago, even at 15K$.
