Does anyone know the maker of this screwback EK1?

Hi guys, this is a nice EK1 Screwback, it is highley vaulted, unmarked and the blacking is matt with magnetic centre.
The cross has a wide frame and the screw plate is smaller than on other screw backs i have ...it being only 25.5mm. Any idea who the maker could be???

            Well....

I have three 1939 EK 1s with similar "small" screwplates ("L/54," "L/56," and "L/58"), and IMO yours was not made by any of them.

Could it be one by L/12?

Ive put it next to my L12s and it is very similar except that the paint finish is matt. But the arms and back are exactley the same. What do you think of the date and swaz?...thanks sven

Well, like you said the back and arms are the same as a L/12, but its the Swas and date the are confusing me There not like most L/12's.
Did they ever change how they were making the cores of these during the war? Maybe this is a later or earlier version?

Hi Tyler...i dont know if they did change the cores or use different tooling on the very early EKs. I would like to throw that question out to other forum members, if any are around and willing to post their thoughts. THE CROSS is a puzzel that i hope the forum can solve.

if needed i can post further pics of any part of the EK....Thnaks sven

No its not Junker, the date dont match and not the swaz.
There is some other makers that did make screwback´s.
It can be on off those.

Hi sven, I would say it appears to be a Zimmerman or Godet looking at the core details. Any one else see the likeness?
