I got this about 10 years ago and have no idea if it is good or fake. What do the experts think?

This looks like an original S&L Spanish Cross from the photos. Is it possible to see a "side" shot showing the elevation of the swastika?

Looks like a good one with the less often seen hinge. Close ups of the eagles would be nice.

Thanks for the photo! I believe this to be a perfectly good Spanish Cross by S&L. Congratulations!

I'd agree with Leroy on this being a legit SC.

                    Brian,

This is something I never understood with PKZ marked Spanish Crosses.

If the PKZ codes were not introduced until 1944 and the SC being awarded for the Spanish Civil war and that war alone, which as we all know ended in 1939, why would this be marked for PKZ indicating an official award?

LDO marked pieces I can accept but PKZ???

                      Richard,
These PKZ marked crosses could have been officially awarded to the recipient after request because of a lost of the original one. Some of these are double marked LDO and PKZ (L/16 & 4 ) . Dietrich who studied in depth these topic could help us finding a logical explaination ..
The awarded crosses were unmarked or marked with early marking ie. CEJ. I do think that very manufacturers were envolved to the manufacture of the first crosses destinated to be awarded during the Döberitz ceremonies. CEJ, CEJ 900, 835, Meybauer 900 coat of arms, 900, were among them.

...to put it indelicately, I wouldn't pay top dollar for an S&L marked '4'.

Richard, Jacques, thanks for the comments.

                          Hello there,

Anyone have a S&L example produced post-war or are all of them like this considered to be authentic?

Yes, why not? Crosses could be lost and had to be replaced, for example.
