    Please check this Knight cross!

    Hello!

Please give me your most welcome opinions on this well worn 800 marked KC with short band.

There are so many fakes around, that I need more than only my 5 cent opinion on this one.

Many thanks in advance for your

    Have a nice weekend

    Cheers

Looks like a genuine Steinhauer und Lück to me.

It looks like the S/Ls illustrated in Gordon's book, but I'd also like to hear other opinions!

At first glance yes, it resembles a S&L but the numerals are different with the 1939 being most damning!
And, there appears to be a 'blob' of metal between the '1' and '9' .

You are right, John. I wasn't looking to close at the numerals since the beading was matching so close or near perfect. The numerals are off and ther is a blob.
Could it be that the frame is made from the original dies? It sure looks like it to me.

This should help a little bit more. (Your permission granted, John?)

Man, I gotta learn this computer stuff!!!! Thanks Gerd!
The frame is very confusing in that it does indeed resemble a S&L but the pics unfortunately aren't sharp enough ( I think ) to make a side by side comparison.

                              Who's Gerd?

You shpould 'obtain' a copy of Photoshop. It is easy to handle and VERY helpfull.

Yes, the frame is relly confusing. If you consider the "aging" and compare it to a genuine one (yours in this case because the pictures are excellent!) - I can't help it, it looks reeal to me.

                              I do another comparision picture.
